New Delhi: The Andhra Pradesh government representative has reportedly asked for the share of tax arrears paid by companies having their headquarters in Hyderabad during a meeting with the Union Home Secretary L C Goyal. But, the Telangana chief secretary maintained that the tax arrears paid by the companies having their headquarters in Hyderabad would accrue to the state of Telangana as this state would have to deal with any legal issues related to the payment of tax arrears.


The AP Government insisted that it would be grave injustice if it had to forego such default taxes too in case of institutes listed under Schedule 10 because of the geographical disadvantage. Hence an amendment was needed, Krishna Rao, argued. But this was again opposed by Rajiv Sharma on the grounds that the very Act clearly stated that all such offices and their revenues would go to the State in which they were located.
