According to reports, Subba Rao one of the servants in the minister's residence who noticed the bag lying in the premises, informed to Peethala Sujatha's father who quickly informed the police.

The police found that there was Rs10 lakhs cash, some certificates and a DSC hall ticket in the bag. The police seized the bag and launched an investigation to find out how the bag reached Sujatha's house.

Responding on the incident, Sujatha claimed innocence and said she was not present at her home when the incident occurred. "I am being targeted by opposition party as I belong to a minority caste," she said.
