Hyderabad: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu might have succeeded in infusing confidence among the people of Andhra Pradesh a day after the purported audio tape consisting of telephonic conversation he allegedly had with nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson in Telangana, but it seems to have had its impact at the Centre.

Though the TDP invited several Union ministers like Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Seetaraman and M Venkaiah Naidu for the Mahasankalpam marking the first anniversary of the AP government, the Centre in a strategic move seems to have maintained a distance from it.

Interestingly, neither Venkaiah Naidu nor Nirmala Seetaraman, who are from Andhra Pradesh failed to attend it. Normally, Venkaiah Naidu never misses a chance to attend any such function. It may be recalled that when Naidu took oath as Chief Minister this day last year, Venkaiah Naidu played the role of an anchor. Several top BJP leaders, including L K Advani and Punjab Chief Minister and Akali Dal leader Prakash Singh Badal, also attended the function.
