Boyapati Srinu Responds To Godavari Stampede Controversy. Opposition parties have been blaming Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and director Boyapati Srinu for the dealy in opening gates of Pushkar Ghat.

Opposition parties have been blaming Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and director Boyapati Srinu for the dealy in opening gates of Pushkar Ghat.

YSRCP senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana also alleged that Boyapati shot a documentary on the Chief Minister and his family’s participation in the Godavari Pushkaram and that led to an inordinate delay in opening the gates of Pushkar Ghat for pilgrims resulting in stampede.

Boyapati tried to put an end to the speculations by responding on the incident.

Speaking to a news channel, Boyapati said that there was no shooting presentation of the Harathi.

"Being a film director I was only asked to advice on the the presentation of colours. No shooting was done on July 14. I returned from the ghat soon after I took a holy dip at around 7.30 predicting the heavy traffic in view of Pushkaralu," the director said.

He further said that he had no time to make such documentaries.
