Devotees thronged Vaishnavite temples in West Godavari district on the auspicious day of Vaikunta Ekadasi on Monday. Devotees in large numbers thronged Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vari Devasthanam in Dwaraka Tirumala from the early hours of Monday for Uttara Dwara darshan. On the occasion of Ekadasi, the priests offered special prayers to the presiding deity in Dwaraka Tirumala from early hours. The hill-top shrine was reverberated with chants of Namo Venkatesa. Dwaraka Tirumala Executive Officer Vendra Trinadha Rao supervised the arrangements for the Uttara Dwara Darshan.

Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal and his wife visited Dwaraka Tirumala in the early hours of Monday and offered prayers to the presiding deity. Temple EO V Trinadha Rao accorded warm welcome to the Chief Election Officer at the temple. Later, Bhanwarlal and his wife offered prayers in the temple and received a memento from the EO.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhanwar Lal said that he was fortunate to offers prayers at Dwaraka Tirumala temple on Vaikunta Ekadasi Day. Eluru RDO N Tej Bharath, tahsildar Devaki Devi, SI Satish Kumar accompanied him. In Eluru, the Vaishnava temples were packed with devotees. The devotees from early hours of Monday thronged temples. Vasu Devalayam in Powerpet, Sri Venkateswara Swamy vari temple in RR Pet and Janardhana Swamy temple in Agraharam witnessed heavy rush of devotees.
In Dendluru mandal, the devotees offered prayers atDasamaneyaswamy temple, Chennakesava Swamy temple in Veerabhdrapuram and Denduluru villages. The priests performed ‘Laksha Tulasi Pooja’ at Dasanjaneyaswamy temple. At Chennakesava Swamy temple, the Lord Chennakesava rode the Garuda Vahanam and priests offered special prayers. In Nidadavole, the devotees offered prayers at Madanagopala Swamy temple. The women performed ‘Kumkum Archana’ to the presiding deity. Temple manager Suryaprakash Rao, priest Govardhan Rangacharyulu and others took part in the rituals.
