The RTC is planning to take up survey of its lands in the State and develop them on a commercial basis through the civil infrastructure corporation to tap additional revenue.

Explaining the plans of APSRTC in 2016, RTC Managing Director N Sambasiva Rao said that the corporation has incurred Rs 336 crore loss till November-end. He said they are able to bring down the losses by Rs 180 crore when compared to last year despite additional burden of Rs 193 crore through wage revision.

The RTC MD said that they are planning to make RTC debt-free in 2016 by bringing value addition to its lands throughout the State. He said the executive directors were entrusted with the task of identifying the RTC lands and proposals would be made to develop them to net additional revenue.

The RTC MD said that they are planning to introduce 45 Amaravati high-end long distance services for the convenience of long-distance travellers. He said that they are planning to invite Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to inaugurate the new services. He said that RTC would introduce cargo services in 2016 as there was good demand for courier service in the State. He said the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 should be amended to introduce cargo services in RTC services.

The RTC Managing Director said that the RTC bus stations in the State are under the process of modernisation and all facilities would be provided at the bus stations.
