Anantapur: The government will ensure that benefits of welfare schemes reach all sections of people on a non-party basis, Minister for Civil Supplies Paritala Sunitha stated here on Sunday.

She was speaking after participating in the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme at Bukkacherla village in Raptadu mandal, along with principal secretary (Education) R P Sisodia, as observers of the programme in Dharmavaram revenue division.

After lighting the lamp and launching the video recording of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s speech, the Minister administered the Janmabhoomi pledge to the gathering. Sunita stated that Naidu had introduced the programme to solve people’s problems. Ninety per cent of the issues raised during the first and second phases of Janmabhoomi have been resolved; the balance would be tackled expeditiously. She revealed that Raptadu mandal stood first among all the constituencies across the State in extending welfare scheme benefits to the needy.

In Raptadu constituency, 16,000 were given ration cards, while steps would be taken to provide cards to 4,000 more. Farmers were able to raise extensive crops, thanks to supply of water to 49 tanks, the Minister said. She complimented Nallapa Reddy for adopting Bukkacherla village, while assuring her cooperation in taking up development works.

Collector Kona Sasdhihar participating in the Janmabhoom programme in the sixth ward of 42nd division stressed the need for all wards in Anantapur be converted into smart wards. He announced the launch of Chandranna Kanuka Scheme across the district from January 7.

Legislator Prabhakar Chowdary said the programme was meant to solve the people’s problems by officials, while being accountable to them. Mayor Swaroopa stated that everyone should assume responsibility for developing wards.
