Trimex  Heavy Minerals Pvt Ltd signed two  MoUs, Bhavanapadu  and Kalingapatnam projects, for the development of  heavy mineral beach sand mining projects, said the company\'s Managing Director Pradeep Koneru.

Visakhapatnam: Trimex Heavy Minerals Pvt Ltd signed two MoUs, Bhavanapadu and Kalingapatnam projects, for the development of heavy mineral beach sand mining projects, said the company's Managing Director Pradeep Koneru.

Trimex group was established in 1985 as an international trading house primarily interested in developing sources of minerals and industrial raw material for various industries worldwide.

The group has vast experience in mining, processing and supply chain management of industrial minerals comprising barite, bentonite, iron ore, feldspar, bauxite, ball clay and kaolin and handles more than 1.5 million tones of various products annually.

Bhavanapadu mineral sand deposits occur in the villages of Raja Puram, Bhavanapadu in Santhabommali mandal and Devunalthada, Suryamanipuram, Komarlathada, Sainooru, URK Puram, Amalapadu and Pallivuru in Vajrapukothuru mandal in Srikakulam district.

The State government has granted in principle approval for grant of mining lease for beach sand minerals (ilmenite, rutile, zircon, garnet and sillimanite) over an extent of 17.88 square kilometres.

The company, in the name of Trimex Heavy Minerals Pvt Ltd, proposed to mine 10 MTPA of heavy mineral sand along with pre-concentration plant of 1,525 TPH (tonnes per hour) and install a mineral separation plant of 270 TPH for the production of ilmenite, rutile, zircon, garnet and sillimanite heavy minerals.

Investment is likely to the tune of Rs 1,500 crores and the project could provide employment to 1,000 directly and 2,000 or more indirectly. Similarly for Kalingapatnam beach sand heavy minerals, the AP government approved mining of ilmenite, rutile, zircon, garnet and sillimanite over an extent of 15.39 sq kms.

Trimex Ores Pvt Ltd proposed to mine 4 MTPA of heavy mineral sand along with pre-concentration plant of 600 TPH and install a mineral separation plant of 90 TPH for the production of ilmenite, rutile, zircon, garnet and sillimanite heavy minerals. The project will cost Rs 1,000 crore and employ 1,500 persons.
