DSC QUALIFIED CANDIDATES

Hyderabad: Human Resources Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the government would give appointment letters for 8,086 teachers of DSC from the first week of February. Addressing newsmen here on Friday, the Minister said that the legal issues related to the appointments have come to a conclusion, and the General Administration Department (GAD) has cleared files relating to issue of appointments. After taking legal advice, it was decided to go ahead with the recruitment, he added.

Claiming that his recent trip to the United Kingdom to attend World Education Summit (WES) was a success, the HRD Minister said that the government had expressed its willingness to host the next summit in the State scheduled in 2017.

Referring to his foreign visit, he said that schools lacking necessary infrastructure and were on the verge of closer have been handed over to the NGOs there. For example, a prominent school like All Saints School was on the verge of closer. It was handed over to an NGO in London, and the school is now running successfully.

The procedure of handing over schools facing closure to NGOs in UK has yielded good results. This model has been conveyed to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and he said that the same model would be replicated on an experimental basis in the State.

Schools with poor pass percentage and lacking necessary infrastructure would be handed over to NGOs, to see whether the model would be suitable to be adopted in the State, he said. However, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is yet to give his green signal for the proposal.
