Addressing a press conference at the Zilla Parishad guest house here on Tuesday, he said that after the TDP came to power, it has accorded priority to Kapu community.  

Eluru: Andhra Pradesh Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation Chairman Chalamalasetti Ramanujaiah said that those leaders who neglected Kapus have no moral right to speak about their welfare. Addressing a press conference at the Zilla Parishad guest house here on Tuesday, he said that after the TDP came to power, it has accorded priority to Kapu community.

He pointed out that the TDP gave three Rajya Sabha seats in West Godavari district to those representing the Kapu community. The chairman said that so far the Corporation has received 3.2 lakh applications from all over the State seeking financial assistance. He said after verifying those applications, loans will be sanctioned to the poor among Kapus.

He pointed out that the Chief Minister allocated Rs 100 crore immediately after setting up the Corporation and assured to allot Rs 1,000 crore in the next budget.

He said the Chief Minister will distribute loans to the tune of Rs 350 crore to 25,000 Kapus in Eluru on February 25. Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, P Narayana, Kimidi Mrinalini, Pydikondala Manikyala Rao, TDP State president Kala Venkat Rao, TTD Chairman Chadalawada Krishnamurthy and 30 Kapu public representatives will participate in the Chief Minister’s programme.
