HUDCO (Housing and Urban Development Corporation) has sanctioned a loan of Rs.90 cr to Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA). This was informed by Shri Babul Supriyo, Minister of State for Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation in a written reply to Smt.Kothapalli Geetha in the Lok Sabha today.

The Minister informed that this loan was sanctioned last month and legal documentation is in progress.

In another written reply to Shri Jayadev Galla in the Lok Sabha, Shri Supriyo informed that 64,942 houses were built for urban poor in Andhra Pradesh under JNNURM (Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewable Mission) and Rajiv Awas Yojana. Of these, 40,331 houses have been occupied by the beneficiaries. A total of 80,999 houses were sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh under these schemes which are now merged into the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana (Urban) launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in June last year.

The Minister further said that the state government has been asked to ensure completion of construction of houses in progress by 31.3.2017 and occupation of all houses by the beneficiaries.
