Bhimavaram: Participants at 6th Advanced Computing Conference observed that there was a need to lay emphasis on research as part of engineering education besides updating syllabus in tune with the industrial needs.

The two-day conference organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) concluded at SRKR Engineering College here on Sunday. Academicians from Bangladesh, Yemen, Egypt, Australia, US, Canada, and Netherlands participated in the conference. IEEE Computer Chapter India, Chairman Dr Deepak Garg presided over the conference. The participants lamented only five per cent of research carried out by the researchers is being utilised during industrial production. They pointed out the need to carry out research jointly by various countries to spur industrial growth.

College Principal Dr G Pardhasaradhi Varma, international seminar convenor Dr M Sivaramabhadri Raju, Computer Science HoD GV Padmaraju expressed happiness over the conduct of the conference.
