Vijayawada: The Left parties demanded the State government release white paper on the Central funds released to the State over the last two years. In separate statements relased here on Tuesday, CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna and his CPM counterpart P Madhu, sought clarification from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the funds allocation to the State by the Centre.

Ramakrishna lashed out at the BJP-led NDA government for maintaining stoic silence over special category status, special package for north Andhra and Rayalaseema districts. “People expected a categorical assurance from the Centre but are disappointed with the raw deal meted out in the Union Budget,” the statement read.

CPM State chief Madhu wrote to the CM demanding a white paper on the Central funds. The leaders criticised BJP national president Amit Shah’s claim that the Centre had released over Rs 1.45 lakh crore to the State.
