He said survey works along the Krishna bund would be completed soon and houses would be allotted to the displaced families in the G+3 houses constructed by the VMC.

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation has decided to take the assistance of Chinese company Guizhou International Investment Corporation (GIIC) to check the water pollution in the three canals pass through the city. The VMC is already working with the Chinese company to develop the Pushkaram ghats along the Krishna river and held several meetings in recent days.
The Commissioner, G Veerapandiyan, on Wednesday inspected the Ryves canal, Budameru rivulet, Eluru canal and BRTS road along with the GIIC team and explained the pollution in the canals caused by drain water. He said drain water used in the city is released into the three canals and it must be checked and asked the GICC team to prepare project report to check pollution in these canals.
He asked the Chinese team to prepare project report to develop greenery along these canal bunds along Eluru road, Bandar road, BRTS road etc. The Commissioner gave the geographical maps of the city, Durga temple flyover works and other information to the GIIC representatives and asked the latter to draw plan to check the pollution in the three canals.
The visiting Chinese team has already inspected the Durga ghat, Pushkara ghat and other areas along the Krishna river and doing ground work to develop the greenery as part of the blue and green project. Urban Greenery Project managing director Chandramohan Reddy, Mangalgiri Commissioner T V Rangarao, VMC chief engineer M A Shukur, city planner P Pradeep Kumar and other officials participated in the visit.

He asked the officials to give the details of the Rajiv Gandhi Park, K L Rao Park and other parks in the city for the development of greenery. He inspected the walking track developed between Benz Circle and Ramavarappadu along the national highway.
