15 red sanders logs seized; 3 arrested
Police arrested three red sanders smugglers here on Thursday and seized 15 red sanders logs worth Rs 15 lakh and a four-wheeler from them.
Budvel (Kadapa): Police arrested three red sanders smugglers here on Thursday and seized 15 red sanders logs worth Rs 15 lakh and a four-wheeler from them.
According to the Mydukur DSP Ramakrishanaiah, the police conducted surprise checks on Budvel-Nellore highway in the early hours of Thursday on a specific information about red sanders logs smuggling.
The DSP said that about 15 smugglers, who were smuggling red sanders logs, have stopped their four-wheeler on noticing police personnel were approaching their vehicle at checkpoint. Smugglers sneaked behind the thorny bushes near the highway and fled the spot immediately leaving behind the vehicle.
Ramakrishanaiah stated that the police were able to nab three smugglers. Apart from red sanders logs, the DSP said police seized two mobile phones from them. The police filed a case and produced the accused before the court.
