Tirupati: Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam at Vontimitta in Kadapa district will be performed with grandeur and will be the first official event after the formation of the State, said TTD Chairman Dr Ch Krishnamurthy. TTD Trust Board chairman, along with joint executive officer P Bhaskar, visited Vontimitta on Sunday to give final touches to the arrangements for the ensuing annual Brahmotsavam and Kayanam festivities which will start on April 14.

Krishnamurthy after releasing the pamphlets and booklets on the Vontimitta annual Brahmotsavams and Kalyanam said that after bifurcation this will be the major event in the State. "The Brahmotsavams and Kalyanam will be historical one as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu took it as a prestigious issue.

Vontimitta would become one of the most sought after pilgrim centres as TTD had taken over this ancient temple,” he added. JEO Bhaskar said that the Brahmotsavams and other special events will begin on April 14 and conclude on April 24, including Sriramanavami fete.

Other notable events of a 11-day long religious celebration include Hanumatseva on April 18, Rathotsavam on April 21. "TTD is making elaborate arrangements for the fete and the devotees are invited to take part in this fest in a big way,” he said.

Inspects ongoing works
Later, the TTD chairman, along with local MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy and district officials, inspected the site where the construction of Kalyana Mandapam is going on. TTD superintendent engineer Sudhakar Rao, executive engineer Krishna Reddy, deputy executive officers Veerabrahmam, Balaji and other officers were also present, according to a press release issued by TTD here on Sunday
