Seva Ratna award for Das
Ch Das, chairman of Gowthami Foundation, was awarded Dr BR Ambedkar Sevaratna for his outstanding service towards the poor and orphans.
Vizianagaram: Ch Das, chairman of Gowthami Foundation, was awarded Dr BR Ambedkar Sevaratna for his outstanding service towards the poor and orphans.
The State government and SC, ST employees have jointly selected him for the award and Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju presented the award to Das at AP Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday on the occasion of Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.
Special representative Kambhampati Rammohan Rao also participated in the programme and applauded Das for his service to the poor students in Salur. Das is running an orphanage in Salur and providing free food, books and accommodation by spending funds from his own pocket. Around 50 poor students are being sheltered in the hostel maintained by Das.
