Akhanda Godavari tourist project implementation reviewed
East Godavari Collector H Arun Kumar reviewed the implementation of Akhanda Godavari project intended for development
Kakinada: East Godavari Collector H Arun Kumar reviewed the implementation of Akhanda Godavari project intended for development of tourism in Godavari upstream areas on Wednesday. The Collector interacted with the representatives a US consultancy firm and the project official Bhimasankaram who called on him at his camp office.
Speaking on this occasion, the Collector said that the government had sanctioned Rs 100 crore for this project for development of
tourism in two Godavari districts with special focus on Rajamahendravaram. The Collector suggested for development of Pachuca
Lanka and surrounding areas in the vicinity.
The Collector also observed that apart from development of boat connectivity, the construction of tourist resorts will stand out as
tourist attractions.The Collector also stressed for inclusion of several temples around Rajamahendravaram, besides Dowleswram
barrage, the Havelock bridge on Godavari and rail-cum-road bridge in the list of tourist attraction under Akhanda Godavari
project.
