Location of capital city in Thulluru flayed
Speaking to press persons here on Wednesday, Dr Gangadhar alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was wasting hundreds of crores by building capital in Thullur mandal, which he said was facing inundation problems during the rainy season.
Vijayawada: BC Janasabha State president Dr G Gangadhar on Wednesday suggested the State government to build new capital between Vijayawada and Guntur cities to bring down the expenditure.
Speaking to press persons here on Wednesday, Dr Gangadhar alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was wasting hundreds of crores by building capital in Thullur mandal, which he said was facing inundation problems during the rainy season.
He pointed out that several experts were suggesting not to construct the capital on river front due to risks like inundation and earthquakes etc.
He further said that valuable lands of farmers in Thulluru, Amaravati and Mangalagiri mandals can be saved if the capital city could be conceived between Vijayawada and Guntur. He said infrastructure facilities were already developed in Vijayawada and Guntur and people can stay there and visit the new capital for administrative purposes. He asked the Chief Minister to come out of his obsession to construct “world-class” capital as it would burden the State exchequer.
