Buddha teachings still relevant: Collector

The teachings of the Buddha are still relevant, observed Collector N Yuvaraj. Paying rich tributes to the Buddha on his birth anniversary here on Saturday, the Collector said that the Buddhist sites, including Thotlakonda, Bavikonda, Pavuralakonda and Bojjannakonda and the Buddha Vanam of VUDA, would be developed further.
Visakhapatnam: The teachings of the Buddha are still relevant, observed Collector N Yuvaraj. Paying rich tributes to the Buddha on his birth anniversary here on Saturday, the Collector said that the Buddhist sites, including Thotlakonda, Bavikonda, Pavuralakonda and Bojjannakonda and the Buddha Vanam of VUDA, would be developed further.
Vice-Chairman of VUDA T Baburao Naidu also paid tributes to the Buddha.
Earlier, the members of Buddhist Society of India led by president Pavana Murty and secretary Mallaiah Raju offered prayers to the Buddha and spoke about his preachings. Executive Director of Tourism wing Srinivasan and District Tourism Officer Lakshman were also present.
