The hill top temple town Tirumala has been witnessing a heavy rush of pilgrims due to summer holidays which is at its peak on weekends ie on Saturday and Sunday  giving a tough task to the TTD authorities in managing the crowd.

Tirupati: In all 1.01 lakh pilgrims had a darshan at Tirumala temple on Saturday while 67,000 pilgrims had a darshan on Sunday till 6 pm. The income through hundi offerings was Rs 5.36 rore on these two days.

The hill top temple town Tirumala has been witnessing a heavy rush of pilgrims due to summer holidays which is at its peak on weekends ie on Saturday and Sunday giving a tough task to the TTD authorities in managing the crowd.

According to TTD sources, 31 compartments of free darshan is full with pilgrims and waiting time for darshan was 10 hours while all the compartments for footpath pilgrims were full resulting in the pilgrims waiting in long queues which stretched up to Narayanagiri Garden queue line, outside the queue complex.

The waiting time for darshan to them was about eight hours.

Meanwhile, TTD executive officer D Samsiva Rao inspected the queue lines in Naraynagiri Gardens, Vaikunta Complex I and II, laddu counters temple Anna Prasadam canteen and other areas on Sunday.

He also interacted with the devotees at several places on the facilities being provided to them and also the movement of queue lines and instructed the officials to constantly monitor the darshan arrangements to avoid delay and also food items to the waiting pilgrims in queue lines and also in the queue complex.
