Focus on uplift of poor: Narayana
Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said the TDP government is focusing on improving living standards of poor in the State through various welfare schemes. He participated in Maha Sankalpam programme in the city at Kasturba Kalakshetram on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Narayana said development and welfare are two eyes for the State government.
Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said the TDP government is focusing on improving living standards of poor in the State through various welfare schemes. He participated in Maha Sankalpam programme in the city at Kasturba Kalakshetram on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Narayana said development and welfare are two eyes for the State government.
The Minister said that the government is implementing various welfare measures effectively in coordination with government departments. He said water bodies in Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa are having adequate water levels due to heavy downpour in last November.
He said around 3,000 tmcft of water was being wasted due to flood in Godavari River every year and the State government has plans to utilise at least 950 tmcft of water which makes the State abundant in water resources. City Mayor Abdul Aziz made an appeal to people to make use of welfare schemes being implemented by the State government.
