Books worth 76 lakh distributed to SC/ST students
Speaking on the occasion, Minister said that Telugu Desam government was keen on empowering the downtrodden community with opportunities in professional and corporate sectors. Materials, which would help students learn and perform better in the professional courses such as engineering, medicine, nursing, post graduation and other undergraduate courses, were distributed.
Vijayawada: Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu distributed subject books to the students of SC/STs in the city on Thursday. Books for the students pursuing professional courses worth Rs 76 lakh were given away in a meeting held at Fr Devaiah Auditorium.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister said that Telugu Desam government was keen on empowering the downtrodden community with opportunities in professional and corporate sectors. Materials, which would help students learn and perform better in the professional courses such as engineering, medicine, nursing, post graduation and other undergraduate courses, were distributed.
These books will be given to the eligible students across Krishna district. We have also plans to bring out materials for competitive examinations which will be given for free.
The general knowledge and practice books will help the students achieve their goals of becoming public sector employees or serving the country,” added the Minister. City Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Social Welfare department officers and others were present.
