Tirumala: The TTD will be planting five lakh sandalwood plants in 90 hectares of land in Tirumala. Speaking to media here on Friday, TTD Executive Officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao said that the plantation of sandalwood plants will be expanded in future.

Besides, vertical gardens will be taken up at Vengamamba Annaprasadam and Kalayana Vedika in Tirumala. Earlier, the EO instructed the IT wing equally divide the darshan given to locals during every month of first Tuesday with five hundred tickets in each slot along with Rs 300 darshan tickets.

He said that the IT wing of TTD with the support of Tata Consultancy Services has designed a new website for TTD which was launched on Thursday.

"Our motto was to provide more easier and transparent system of online services to wide range of devotees. So, we have commenced e-donation, e-hundi, e-kalyana vedika, e-seeghra darshan in our new website and very soon we will launch e-accommodation also,” he added.

The senior officers of TTD working in Tirumala, have felicitated and congratulated TTD EO D Sambasiva Rao, who was promoted by the State government to Special Chief Secretary cadre recently. The EO also thanked everyone and wished to work with more enthusiasm and spirit as a team.
