Vijayawada: Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid, an institute that caters to the technology education needs of rural youth of Andhra Pradesh, is set to transcend the traditional boundaries in excellence under the able leadership of Prof D Raj Reddy, Chancellor, and Prof P Vijaya Prakash, Vice-Chancellor.
Through the Technology Incubation Centre, the RGUKT-Nuzvid offers a platform to create economic and social value at different strata of society with the amalgamation of creative minds, ideas and technology. It seeks to integrate education, productive research, creativity and entrepreneurial skills to launch and nurture promising business start-ups.
It aims to establish itself as a centre of excellence for technology incubation and entrepreneurship development in near future. It wants to encourage the alumni, the existing students and other stakeholders to come up with innovative ideas that can be nurtured and transformed into successful business enterprises. Finally, the centre is devoted to offer a conducive environment for transformation of innovative ideas into promising enterprises for the greater benefit of the university and society.
The Research and Development Cell of RGUKT-Nuzvid plays a pivotal role in development of the institute into a world-class one which caters to contemporary research needs of the nation through its teaching as well as research programmes.
The RGUKT-Nuzvid has achieved 51.7 per cent placements this year. As many as 451 students out of the total 872 got selected in the campus recruitment drives in which 32 companies participated. The highest pay package offered to its students was Rs 14.4 lakh per annum by CyberEye Labs, Hyderabad.
About 125 students were selected for Long Term Internship. Vassar Labs, Hyderabad, offered the highest stipend of Rs 3 lakh per annum to internees. The RGUKT-Nuzvid is making efforts to achieve further growth in the rate of placements.
