Vijayawada: Another YSRCP MLA Adireddy Appa Rao joined TDP in the presence of TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu here on Friday.
Earlier Appa Rao came to Vijayawada along with his followers in a rally. Speculations about Rao joining TDP has been on for long. In fact it was thought that he would join the TDP soon after Jyothula Nehru had quit YSRCP and joined TDP.
However, due to certain reasons including pressure from YSRCP leadership, Appa Rao delayed his entry into the yellow party.
Talking to media, Rao said that he had joined the TDP to be part of the development of Navyandhra Pradesh. He said the YSRCP was groping in darkness and was creating hurdles in the development of the state.
In view of this, he decided to quit YSRCP and join TDP. He said he had not joined the party for any post and would shoulder any responsibility that was given by the party president.
