​Bhimavaram: Police arrested four burglars, including a woman, in two burglary cases and recovered 54 sovereigns of gold ornaments and 12.5 kg silver ornaments.

Disclosing the details to the media here on Monday, Narsapuram DSP G Poornachandra Rao said acting on a tip-off, One Town police led by CI B Venkateswara Rao and SI Sudhakar Reddy arrested two Inter-district burglars Bula Naga Sai (25) and Md Sonu alias Rafi (26) of Visakhapatnam near Bhimavaram Junction Railway station.

The police seized 12.5 kg silver ornaments and 6.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments, two LED TVs and one DVD player worth Rs 7 lakh from the possession of the accused.

The DSP said that Bula Naga Sai is a habitual offender and was involved in 60 crimes. Another accused Md Sonu alias Rafi was involved in 23 crimes.

Both the accused developed friendship at Visakhapatnam jail. After being released on bail, the duo committed seven burglaries in Visakhapatnam, Bank Colony and Housing Board Colony in Bhimavaram One Town area and three burglaries in Attili, Palakoderu and Tanuku in West Godavari district.

The accused also committed two burglaries in Yalamanchili area in Visakhapatnam district and Prakash Nagar area in Rajamahendravaram. The DSP said that several cases were pending against the accused in Kakinada and Rajamahendravaram.

In another case, Two Town police arrested Nargani Gopalakrishna and Sila Ramani at Penumanchili village in Achanta mandal.

The DSP said that Nargani Gopalakrishna along with Sila Anil Kumar committed a burglary in Suryanarayana Colony near Adda Vanthena in Bhimavaram in March. They decamped with 30.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments.

Police arrested Gopalakrishna and Anil Kumar’s mother Ramani while they were on their way to Palacole to sell the stolen gold ornaments.

They recovered 19.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments from Gopalakrishna and 8 sovereigns of gold ornaments from Ramani. The DSP stated that the police also recovered 20 sovereigns of gold ornaments from the possession of the accused.

Gopalakrishna and Anil Kumar committed burglaries at ASR Nagar in Bhimavaram in August 2014. He said that Anil Kumar was absconding.

The DSP appreciated CIs B Venkateswara Rao and Ramesh Kumar for nabbing the accused and announced a reward for them.
