‘Chandranna Dalita Bata’ to be held in city

Visakhapatnam: The second phase of massive awareness campaign under the slogan of ‘Chandranna Dalitha Bata’ which commences from October 24 from Kurnool, will be held at the Andhra University Engineering College Grounds here on October 29 from 9.30 am onwards.

The campaign will last up to October 31 covering all important cities across the State. The objective of the campaign is to create awareness among the stakeholders about the welfare activities being taken up by social welfare and tribal welfare departments. The activities include economic assistance schemes for unemployed SC, ST youths, skill development schemes, pre and post-matric scholarships, NTR Vidyonnathi, Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi programme and Giriputhrika Kalyana Pathakam.

Meanwhile, Collector Praveen Kumar has alerted all related department officials of GVMC, SC Corporation, ITDA, Paderu, Zilla Praja Parishad, District Panchayat wing, DRDA, DM&HO, Chief Planning Officer, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Irrigation, R & B, RWS, EPDCL, Women and Child Welfare, DEO, MEPMA and others directing them to make necessary arrangements for the proposed massive campaign to be held on October 29.

He also asked to arrange stalls at the above venue depicting complete information of welfare schemes grounded and number of beneficiaries focusing on the schemes taken up under Scheduled Castes Sub Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP). in the last two years besides general schemes being implemented by the departments.

The Collector also instructed the officials to arrange grounding of the schemes and distribution of assets by mobilising beneficiaries in large numbers for the awareness programme.
