Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Municipal Town Planning Technical Officers Association, which met here on Sunday, demanded the government fill vacant buildings inspector posts immediately to reduce work burden. Addressing a gathering, the association president Venkateswara Rao said out of 391 building inspector posts in the State at present 96 building inspectors are working and remaining posts are lying vacant.

He said as a result work burden on the existing staff is increasing.Guntur city planner Dhanumjaya Reddy stressed the need to impart training to the building inspectors to use modern technology and need to improve skills of the town planning officials. He said association also imparts training to the town planning officials to upgrade their skills. Deputy city planner Satynarayana, association leader Subba Reddy, Suvarna Kumar were present at the meeting.
