Amaravati: Shockingly the security agencies express their inability to give Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu complete protection since he is overlooking his safety.

Recently, the NSG and SPF wings have submitted their opinions to their senior officials and security wings also identified risk factors in providing security to him.

Especially, the road way from Undavalli to Secretariat on which the CM travels regularly is considered a very risky zone by security wings.

They claim that providing security in the roadway is tough task for any agency since they are worried about Maoists threat to the CM. On the other hand, security agencies could not provide helipad at Interim Secretariat Complex at Velagapudi due to lack of suitable land.

Moreover, Naidu prefers to stay back even till late night when he is chairing Cabinet meetings and other important review meetings in Secretariat.

The security agencies clearly told their bosses that the CM’s negligent attitude is causing lot of tension for them. The curves and houses very close to road margins and miscreants can take advantage and hide in there and plan some attack.

Similarly, the nearby areas to the road margins from his residence to Secretariat are enveloped with agriculture fields, trees and canals.

Providing security for any VIP continuously at such a location is impossible, said one higher official in the security department. He said the officials are not in position to inform the situation to Chief Minister in person.

Adding to their woes, Naidu’s tours to various districts and Delhi sojourn is also making the task of security wings and police department daunting to keep a tight vigil.

Sometimes, the CM doesn’t use bullet-proof vehicles in his convoy, said an official and urged the CM to adhere to security measures as per the guidelines on his tours.

They reminded the CM did not use bullet proof cars in the recent Delhi tours and also travelling in local train.

On security front, Special Protection Force (SPF) provides security at Interim Secretariat Complex with 140 members’ staff. As many as 75 members are on duty round-the-clock. “Once the CM steps into Secretariat, there is no need to worry,” said a security official on condition of anonymity.

Presently, there is helipad problem at Secretariat and it should be setup on war-footing to heighten his security measures, he added.
