Tirupati: An awareness programme was conducted on PSLV C37 for the students of Geethanjali English Medium High School here on Wednesday. The launch vehicle will carry 103 satellites which will be test fired from Sriharikota on February 15.

The coordinator and educational officer of Regional Science Centre Manigandan and Durgaiah respectively attended as chief guests. Addressing the students, Manigandan said that the main aim of ISRO in launching the satellites is that they should be useful for the society.

Students should understand the social problems too, he said. In his speech, Durgaiah said that it is an innovative idea to arrange a programme to bring awareness among students on the rocket launching.

They both unveiled the model rocket made by the students and faculty of the school. School director Madhavi said that every Indian should be proud of ISRO as they are going to create a record by launching 103 satellites at a stretch. Later, the students conducted a rally with the model rocket. Principal G Bhaskar Rao and faculty also participated.
