Later speaking to media persons, Raghuveera Reddy said the meeting has discussed about non-fulfilment of 600 promises by TDP, which it incorporated in manifesto during 2014 elections. “We will gather the opinion of the people from village level on the tongue twisting attitude of Chandrababu Naidu over Special Category Status,” he said.

The PCC chief said that they will release a public charge-sheet after seeking the opinions of the people. “Congress will organise agitations on prevailing drought situation across the state and suicides of farmers and tenant farmers,” he stated. Former Union Minister MM Pallam Raju said that the meeting has also discussed on strengthening the party from ground level, agitations to be organised on the people`s problems and chalked out future action plan.

Referring to defections which are taking place in both the Telugu states, he said Congress is against to such defections and they already wrote a letter to President of India in this regard.Former MP JD Seelam said before joining the other parties the MLAs should resign to their post.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who slammed Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, when his party MLAs defected to TRS is also following the same path in AP, which is highly condemnable,” he fumed. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member and actor Chiranjeevi’s absence has created ripples in the meeting.

According to sources the absence of Chiranjeevi in the meeting was raised by some of the senior leaders for which Raghuveera Reddy gave clarification that due to some unavoidable work, the actor could not attend.Later, Congress leaders including Digvijaya Singh participated in the public ballot on SCS. It should be noted that the party general secretary has not spoken a word to media at the press meet as well as during public ballot.
