Talking to The Hans India, Sakunthalamma, a resident of Chintakaayalavari street, said that the GVMC has reduced the timings of drinking water. Therefore, it is becoming difficult for them to fetch sufficient water. “Though we are facing drinking water problem, the corporation is not cleaning an old well, and if it is well maintained, people can use that water, she said.
Vasu, a driving school owner, said that water scarcity has increased in recent times.

He further stated that they are purchasing water from private water suppliers. The GVMC has launched a campaign urging the people not to use unhygienic water as it may pose a threat to their health, but it is not providing clean water to the people, he alleged.

Dr Nageshwara Rao at Kurpam market said that since 15 years many people from One Town area are suffering from water-borne diseases with high rates of infection. He also said that the ground water level also polluted due to fly ash and if such contaminated water is consumed by the public it leads to health problems.
