Kolleru village faces crisis; girls find it difficult to get married

Kolleru, popular for its Bird Sanctuary provides habitat for birds crossing the continent.

However, the village rich in it's landscape locations, is experiencing poverty. The alarming situation of the villagers suffering from extreme financial crisis, resulting in them being unable to get their daughters married. Most of these girls have already crossed the marriageable age.

This seems to be the case with every household in the village. While the villagers have tried everything in their grasp whether it was to try to sell their lands or offer the lands as dowry, nothing worked out as the barren lands are driving the suitors away.

Even taking up loans was not option due to the financial conditions the village was experiencing. The parents are facing dire crisis of being unable to get their daughters married and are living their lives in misery.

With the colonies in the villages being over forty years, the number of unmarried women in the village is increasing day by day.
