Nellore: Municipal Minister Narayana said that the state government is providing timely suggestions to the farmers by taking the technical support of the ISRO and other organisations for the benefit of farming activity. The Minister stated the government is giving top priority for welfare of farmers. He participated in the Nava Nirmana Deeksha held here on Sunday.

Addressing the gathering, Narayana said 65 per cent of people in the state are relying on farm-related activity and majority reservoirs in the state are cyclone or depression dependent. “3,000 tmcft of water was being wasted by entering into sea and hence the state government had proposed Pattiseema scheme to utilise only 954 tmcft for making 2 crore acre of lands viable for cultivation in the state,” he said. He stated Krishna, Prakasam and Nellore districts would get drinking water from the project.
