Housing for all: Rupees 487.92 crore works to be taken up

Guntur: Minister for social welfare Nakka Ananda Babu performed bhumi puja at Adavitakkellapadu in Guntur on Monday, for construction of houses under Housing For All scheme at a cost of Rs. 487.92 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Ananda Babu said that the aim of government was to construct houses to poor.

“Centre will give 50 per cent subsidy to the beneficiaries,” he informed. He said that the government would construct 24,300 houses under the scheme. “The government would provide all the necessary infrastructure and construct hospitals, parks and temples for the convenience of people,” he asserted.

MLA Ravela Kishore Babu said that roads would be laid and drinking water and other facilities would be provided at the housing complex. He added that the Centre and state governments were working for the welfare of poor. District collector Kona Sasidhar said that the government would allot houses to all eligible under this scheme and urged the eligible avail
facility.
