Irked fans go berserk as DJ spl show not screened

Tirupati: Fans of popular Telugu actor Allu Arjun went berserk and tore off flexi boards at a theatre as they got angry for not screening a special show of Duvvada Jagannadham (DJ) separately for them in the early hours of Friday. They pelted stones towards Bhuma Cine Complex and broke glass panes.

Normally, distributors of leading actor movies screen the special shows for the fans some time after midnight. Excited fans eagerly waited for the show which is known as ‘fans benefit show’ and make gaga over it with raising slogans in favour of their favourite hero. This time also they expected a special show for DJ.

Fans buy the tickets at a much inflated prices for the special show. But, no theatre in the pilgrim city has screened a special show in the early hours for the reasons not known. However, the special shows commenced only at 8.55 am. Irked fans have expressed their anger in rather violent way on the theatres. Later, the police personnel came and dispersed the fans.

Speaking to The Hans India, a theatre manager said that they cannot screen the film unless they get the key. He claimed that fans are innocent but some drunkards might have reacted violently, who are not the fans.

A fan expressed his displeasure for not screening the film especially for them. Another fan said that they buy the tickets at a whooping price and will get angry if the show is not screened. However, the much awaited film evoked mixed response as it received average talk which is having a mass touch.

Those who want to watch the movie should keep their expectations low to enjoy it commented one young guy Venkatesh, who watched the morning show. Music and Allu Arjun’s performance are the plus points, he said.
