Medical representatives observe hunger strike
Andhra Pradesh Medical and Sales Representatives\' Union, Vizag unit resorted to one-day hunger strike demanding the State and Central governments to resolve their long-pending issues at Gandhi Statue opposite to GVMC in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Medical and Sales Representatives' Union, Vizag unit resorted to one-day hunger strike demanding the State and Central governments to resolve their long-pending issues at Gandhi Statue opposite to GVMC in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
A slew of demands put forward by them include identifying the medical representatives as highly-skilled workers, taking steps to reduce medicines prices, reviving government medical companies, free medicines to poor and punishing firms’ managements for violating Sales Promotion Employees (SPE) Act.
The medical representatives urged for wage hike implementation as per wage board recommendations, issuing of government ID cards and to give a call for tripartite committee meeting immediately to discuss the pressing issues of the sector.
