International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed at Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women in Bhimavaram on Sunday.

Bhimavaram: International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed at Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women in Bhimavaram on Sunday.

On this occasion, the students of the college displayed various articles that were designed for the visually challenged. The students donated these articles to Centre for Visually Challenged and Sri Venkateswara School for the Blind. The College management representatives presented a tricycle to a visually challenged woman Anuradha.

Speaking as the chief guest, Narsapur DSP T Prabhakar Babu, said that the students came forward with more inventions that were useful to all.

He suggested students that they should serve the visually challenged to bring them into the mainstream by erasing their inferiority.

Noted ophthalmologist Ramana Raju said that everyone should follow the footsteps of Padmasri Dr BV Raju.

The college principal, Dr G Srinivasa Rao explained the activities taken up by the college. The college vice-principal, Dr P Srinivasa Raju, dean R and D Padma Vasavi and others addressed the students.
