The port is also holding YAI Senior, Junior and Youth National Championships from December 21 to 25 which will witness sailors from across India participating in the event. Both the competitions will attract over 400 sailors from India and other Asian nations.
Nellore: Krishnapatnam Port is hosting the 9th edition of International Youth Sailing Competition of India from December 27 to 31. International Youth Sailing competition 2017 is the largest sailing competition in the country and is being organised by the Navayuga Sailing Academy, Tamil Nadu Sailing Association (TNSA) and Yachting Association of Andhra Pradesh (YAAP) under the aegis of the Yachting Association of India (YAI) and the Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF).
The port is also holding YAI Senior, Junior and Youth National Championships from December 21 to 25 which will witness sailors from across India participating in the event. Both the competitions will attract over 400 sailors from India and other Asian nations. In the first leg of the Asian Sailing Federation Youth Cup 2017-18, 150 sailors from across the world will be representing 9 countries including India.
Krishnapatnam port and CVR Group have recently conducted by invitation 3rd edition of KPCL Golden Eagles Golf Championship 2017 covering four cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi where 500 golfers participated. International Race officials and Jury have been appointed to ensure that the conduct of the event is scrupulously fair and efficient.
International race officer Ilker Byandir from Turkey is the Principal Race Officer for the event assisted by TNSA member and RYA race officer Mylai Prabhakar, while International Judge Chris Watts from the UK is the chair of the jury which will comprise of distinguished International Judges from India, Korea and Singapore.
Ashok Thakkar, commodore of the TNSA, said it is wonderful to see sailors from nations far and near coming to this new venue to participate in the event. Sailing engenders kinship across communities and helps establish cross cultural exchanges between nations. Earlier, eight editions of India International Regatta were held at Chennai and campaigned by TNSA (Tamil Nadu Sailing Association). Krishnapatnam Port is the events lead sponsor.
