“We are not begging. It is our just demand as we lost capital to Amaravati,” she said, adding that Rayalaseema Advocates Joint Action Committee (JAC) has decided to continue the protest till the government accepts the demand of the people of Rayalaseema for setting up of High Court in the region.

The JAC has unanimously passed a resolution to boycott the courts in four districts up to March 5. She also warned the government if High Court is not considered to Kurnool, then agitation for separate statehood will be launched.

The Association President addressed the Advocates JAC meeting held at Kurnool United Club on Saturday. Advocates from Kurnool, Kadapa, Anantapur and Chittoor participated in the meeting. The JAC Chairman S Mastan Vali demanded the state government to set up High Court at Kurnool. “It is not the lavish demand of the people of Rayalaseema; it is a just demand as per the Sri Bagh Pact, he said.

The JAC has unanimously decided that all advocates of JAC will go to Penukonda of Anantapur to gherao Chief Minister on February 22.
