Visakhapatnam: Food lovers particularly non-vegetarians are rushing to the Old City to relish haleem, which is available during the holy month of Ramzan. The cost was increased from Rs 20 to Rs 30 this season, however, people are not bothering about the cost and savouring the delicacy in the evenings.

The haleem makers and sellers in the city increased the price of the haleem due to soaring chicken and mutton prices. Ten more outlets were opened in the city as the demand has been increasing.

“With the rising prices of essential commodities, meat, chicken and raw materials, we have to increase the price of haleem by 20 per cent”, said the haleem makers while explaining about the hike in the price. Earlier, haleem outlets used to hire the chefs from Hyderabad, but now majority of the chefs emerged within the city
