Kurnool: TG Bharat and B Ramanjaneyulu were unanimously elected as President and General Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Rugby Association. The association members have chosen the duo during a general body meeting organised at Mourya Inn here on Tuesday.

Addressing the association members, TG Bharat has said rugby is a European sport. “But, the sport is gaining popularity in Andhra Pradesh too. To give a big boost to the sport, TGV Trust had extended training to 10,000 players after hiring five rugby experts from all over the world,” he mentioned. The trust wants to encourage more number of rugby players.

He further said that the association is planning to organise state-level senior rugby tournament in Kurnool. B Ramanjaneyulu has stated the association will strive to develop the sport across Andhra Pradesh with the support of TGV Trust.

Several students are playing rugby sport, he said, urging the players to practice the sport with a determination. AP Rugby Association Vice-President Musthafa Kamal Basha and other office bearers of the association have participated in the general body meeting.
