Kurnool: No party other than Congress would accord Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. Fetching SCS to AP is not possible with regional parties. Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan are bluffing the people of AP; they are working only to get positions not for the welfare of people, alleged former MLA Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy.

Addressing the media for the first time after joining Congress, Byreddy strongly reacted over the injustice done to state by the Modi government. ``Unable to digest the injustice done to AP, I have joined Congress party. I had to say goodbye to TDP because of Naidu’s letter sent to the Centre supporting the state bifurcation,’’ he said.

With the bifurcation of two states the SCS issue gains importance. Naidu and Jagan for their selfish interests have supported the state bifurcation. If they have had opposed then, partition of states wouldn’t have taken place, alleged Reddy. Congress is the only party with which the SCS is possible.

Rahul Gandhi has openly announced of his first signature on SCS to AP after Congress coming to power. A massive public is planned in Kurnool and Rahul Gandhi would be chief guest on the occasion. Congress would stay away from YSRCP’s bandh call on July 24, he said.
