Vijayawada: About 1,000 women participated in a rally organised by Tadepalli ZPTC Dandamuri Sailaja Rani, from Kunchanapalli to Druga temple here on Monday. The women led by Sailaja Rani organised the rally aspiring the AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu retain power in the coming 2019 elections.

Earlier, the women reached the foot of Indrakiladri hill and from there, they reached Durga Temple on foot raising slogans ‘Jai Durga Jai Jai Durga’ and ‘Malli CM Meere Kavali’. After reaching the temple, special pujas were performed in a traditional way seeking blessings to the CM Naidu to retain power in 2019 elections and bless the CM with good health.

Addressing the media, Sailaja Rani said that the CM was striving hard day and night for the development of the State in all aspects. She said that Pujas were performed so that no evil power should harm the CM and his family as Goddess Durga has the power drive away evil spirits. She said that they would perform prayers at churches and mosques in the days to come to seek blessing for CM Naidu, she added.
