Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar has advised the shop owners to demolish the encroachments on the main road on their own as there is only day time in this regard.
Inspecting the removal of encroachments in the main road here on Thursday, he said the corporation was treating the encroachments seriously and take stern action on the respective traders, if they failed to remove them immediately.
The corporation decided to remove the encroachments as part of master plan, he added.
As per rule, the main road should be 40 feet width but some traders constructed steps and railings on the main road causing problem to the people.
He advised petty vendors and hawkers to do their business in side lanes but not on the main road posing problems to the people.
City planner Vara Prasad, one town police station officials accompanied the commissioner.
