Vijayawada: District Collector B Lakshmikantham said that this Diwali festival should shower light of education into the lives of children studying in child labour schools. The Collector on Tuesday inaugurated the display of clay ‘pramidas’ made by the students of child labor schools under the National Child Labour Project (NCLP). He appreciated the students for preparing beautiful clay pramidas on the occasion.
NCLP project director and Vijayawada labour commissioner D Anjaneya Reddy informed that about 500 students were studying in about 16 NCLP schools and the students were from very poor background families. Students of Krupa Foundation at Jakkampudi Colony Child Labour School, NCLP programme manager Prasanna and others were present.
