Training course in welding begins
A twoweek expertlevel course in welding trade kicked off on Tuesday for a batch of 23 trainees at the Sri CitySiemens Technical Skill Development Institute SSTSDI
Tirupati: A two-week expert-level course in welding trade kicked off on Tuesday for a batch of 23 trainees at the Sri City-Siemens Technical Skill Development Institute (SSTSDI). All those trainees are the regular students of Government ITI, Tada pursuing one-year course in welding trade. They all have already under gone a two-week foundation course in the same trade at SSTSDI during November 14-26.
It was a two-level programme, and during foundation course, practical welder training and focusing on welding techniques is taught starting with basics. The next level called expert level, was designed at providing the knowledge and skills in the processes of TIG welding and also Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, such that the equipment can be utilised safely and efficiently.
SSTSDI, which was started in May 2017 offers skill training to students from ITI, polytechnic and engineering colleges in the neighbouring mandals. Training is provided in Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Computer Aided Design (CAD), automobile engineering and welding. Till date, in all trades put together, over 600 students received training at SSTSDI.
