Combat illicit liquor, officials told

Rajamhendravaram: The Rajamahendravaram Excise Circle superintendent, Naga Prabhu Kumar, has said that the department is putting in its efforts to combat illicit liquor problem in its purview. Reviewing the success of the department with the officials at his office here on Wednesday, he said the department was conducting raids in and around the city and registering cases against the illicit liquor brewing.
He directed the officials to intensify raids as the government was very much particular to eradicate the menace and asked them to check whether the licensed shops were selling the brands as per MRP or not. Regular check was needed in the villages adjacent to the city and asked the officials to register cases against the persons who produce, transport and sell illicit liquor and also destroy jaggery wash. All the officials should work with coordination to infuse confidence among the people on the department, he added.
