People throng tourist spots in Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram: Tourist spots in the district, Punyagiri, Tatipudi reservoir, Thotapalli reservoir and sea coastal areas like Bhogapuram and Pusapatirega are witnessing heavy rush due to weekends and particularly due to auspicious Karthika masam. Generally, the families, student groups and employees like to spend jolly time during Kartheekam and even after that month till the end of December.

Even the mango orchards are also becoming a preferable destination for these gatherings. The students and youth like to spend their time here along with their friends and family members. They are even conducting entertainment programmes like orchestras, games and some entertainment competitions also.

The hoteliers and catering companies are also giving some discount on bulk bookings to attract the people. K Balaji, a resident of Thotapalem in Vizianagaram town, said “We have been organising picnics for the residents of our apartments. This would help to strengthen friendship between the families and it would be a great refreshment for us.”

Even the villagers also participating in such programmes and spending joyful time with their friends. Hundreds of people visited Thotapalli reservoir and Tatipudi. Children enjoyed the boat shikaar in Tatipudi. K Deepthi, a Class VIII student said, “We came here with our friends and teachers. It’s very much happy for us to go out of the school and watching the nature. We all enjoyed a lot.”
